Turkey Time!

Spring is a great time to get out and enjoy turkey hunting. After being inside most of the winter thinking about the next years hunting season, many people are happy to get out and enjoy nature.

This year the turkey's in Clare County did not break up early. We are still finding large groups of birds that are just starting to break up. This will offer some good hunting to the last season hunters - who normally don't have the ideal conditions.

This week birds have been very vocal and this should present some good opportunities.

The 2006 Turkey Season started on Monday April 17th - 23rd!
Good Luck Hunters!

The report for Monday and Tuesday has been slow so far. We spotted several hens so far and we have been able to get a couple of toms to call back, however we haven't been able to get one in close for a good shot.

We are hopeful that with the weather improving that we will be able to call in a nice tom soon.

It is almost time for the Michigan 2006 Spring Turkey Hunt!

We will be posting scouting reports and hunting tips for everyone this year. The highlight for me personally will be doing the camera work and calling for my daughter who is joining our team for her 1st Turkey Hunt.

Amber successfully completed her hunter safety program last year in time to do some small game hunting and enjoy the fall hunting seasons, but her real motivation for taking hunter safety was to participate in Michigan Turkey Hunting. I am very proud of her hard work and efforts in school and I look forward to sharing the art of hunting with her and her friends this year.

Outdoor creations and Hot Hunting Spots are both committed to helping promote youth participation in outdoor sports such as hunting and fishing. It is our goal to provide tools, methods and even seminars to help young people enjoy nature and outdoor sports.
